More about this theme
Inspired by the smoky celluloid of bygone cinema, Noir is a theme for blogs with character. Detail is Noir’s racket: golden-age framings and mid-century typography, all mistily blanketing your feed.
Noir’s a pretty straightforward looker, but let’s drop a dime and give it a good up-and-down:
Theme Features
Customizable Header and Post Detail
Noir comes decked out with a load of selectable flourishes, including a film-inspired “Presenting” above your blog’s title in the header, and a classy “From the Desk Of” in your text and link posts.
Additionally, Noir can be customized to include your “About” description in either the header or the footer, allowing you to foreground different aspects of your blog’s dishy mug.
Integrated Twitter and Like Fields
Noir happily accommodates your recent tweets (the quantity of which can be set in the Customization sidebar) in an optional field in your “About” box. Posts you’ve Liked can also be displayed in a tab within your “About.”
General Settings
Custom Avatar
Noir supports the use of custom avatars, with a recommended/optimal size of 104x104 px.
Ultra-Simple Social Media Integration
Noir’s customization sidebar features quick-setup social media fields, including: Vimeo, Flickr, LastFM, Dribbble, Skype, Facebook, Google+, Github, YouTube, LinkedIn, Svpply, Rdio, Gowalla, Foursquare, Instagram, and Pinterest. Icons for each of these, once setup, are displayed in the “About.”
Disqus Commenting
Disqus commenting is the same as it ever was. Grab your website shortname, found in the General Settings of your Disqus dashboard, and copy it into the appropriate sidebar field.
Google Analytics
Noir supports Google Analytics, which is easily setup by inputting your GA shortcode into the appropriate sidebar field.
